What is a static routing?
a static route is a fix path between one subnet to different subnet. The path is manually entered into each router by the network administrator.
What are the advantage of static routing?
- Easy to configure .
- No overhead of control packets.
- Router use less CPU when they use static route.
- Better security
What are the disadvantage of static routing?
- Not fault tolerant
- Network changes require manual reconfiguration
Simulation
This simulation shows two networks communicating with each other over different path. In this simulation you playing the role of the network administrator, by clicking each router you can configure the static path of the network .
