Before we submit any lesson to our Lesson Store we will review the lesson carefully.

Building a Lesson

Lessons and tutorials written in flash are quite different than the traditional HTML pages we see everywhere on the web. Flash provide more flexibility to create interaction with the users, interacting with the user in such a way that it will help them understand the basic concept of what you are trying to teach. For example a lesson that provide a nice command prompt for the user to type in the commands, could be much more efficient learning experience than writing long and boring HTML page.

Few guidelines that will help you build a successful lesson:

  • Choose appropriate title and description.
  • List the objectives of the lesson in simple words - what the student is expected to be able to do upon completion of the lesson.
  • Step by step expand the objective into chapters
  • Ask leading questions, provide reviews and summary.
  • Be interactive - add images, voice and flash animation.
  • Exploit Flash capabilities to provide some sort of lab experiment - providing a command prompt to type commands is a good example.

Embedding Assets

When you develop a lesson you may embed the following assets inside your lesson:

  • Images
  • Video Players (e.g. YouTube)
  • Flash objects
  • Sounds
  • Any other asset that can be complied inside Flash

The only limitation is the file size which have to be under 10Mb. To reduce the file size you can download assets in run time rather than compile them in the application.

Lessons should be optimized for 1024x768 and should not be bigger than that size. Try limit your application's width to 900 pixels and about 600 pixels on  the height.

Pricing

We give you the option of putting the tag price on your lessons. The price will be displayed where the item is being presented for sale. Alternatively, you can choose to publish the lesson for free, doing so will result in higher views rate and can promote your name or website.

All the sales you made in each month will be transfer to your PayPal account at the beginning of the following month. All sales are received directly to osischool's PayPal account. After the transaction with the user is completed, we will deduct 30% (after expenses) to support the website and to provide a better infrastructure for all users, the remaining 70% will be transfer to you.
