Error Rate
What is Error Rate?
The error rate is the degree of errors in the transmission of data due to bad hardware or noisy links. The higher the error rate the less reliable the connection or data transfer will be.
BER - Bit Error Ratio
BER the number of erroneous bits received divided by the total number of bits transmitted. In out simulation we show BER as packets rather than bits.
Simulation
Use the command prompt to start the flow between the hosts and observe the error rate chart.
Play around with the the sender interval and links error rate to see how they effect the the of the error rate
In our Simulation we measure the error rate as the number of erroneous packets received divided by the total number of packets transmitted during 1 second interval.
